Beautiful design rendered with beautiful craft

Newell Design builds modern furniture with lasting beauty at the highest level of design, integrity and craftsmanship on the market. Newell began in 1996 when Jeff and Beth Newell partnered and began making hand-carved picture frames. Soon after, the husband and wife team were commissioned to build credenzas for a local architecture firm. With no machinery in place, the pieces were built entirely by hand in the living room of their downtown Denver loft. Today the company is made up of six staff members working in a 5,750 square foot workshop in downtown Denver. Their furniture can be found in some of the finest businesses and residences across the United States and worldwide.

Jeff Newell is the company’s Lead Designer and Master Furniture Maker. He can be found more often than not in the workshop building furniture alongside his fellow craftspeople. Beth Newell is the company’s Artistic Director; she and her husband work together to design the Newell collection. She is particularly inspired by Asian furniture, especially lacquer work, the influence of which can be seen in many of Newell’s pieces.
