The acronym TIVI stands for This Is Very Important. Although TIVI believes that even the smallest details of our surroundings can have a profound effect, they are mocking themselves just a bit. The company was formed by Ryan Wither and Paul Lewin who met at Savannah College of Art and Design. The two quickly realized that their areas of expertise were complementary and together they consistently produced results greater than the sum of their parts. Their diverse experience allows them to provide clientele with a full breath of services from initial conception and rendering, to prototyping, fabrication, manufacturing and installation.
Tivi’s interest in creating a new context for non-precious and industrial materials led to the development of their personal accessory collection, Tiviwear. The line’s modern aesthetic has resulted in placements at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) gift shop, Uncommon Goods and other high-end boutiques. Tivi has also designed for well-established product development companies such as Chilewich, and has received a lifetime achievement award for their work with Mark Jacobs. In June 2011, Tivi won a People’s Choice Award from AIA of Los Angeles for restaurant design.
